The Role | Main Responsibilities


The Freight and Warehouse Specialist is an integral part of the Freight and Warehouse team within i+solutions. This role supports the FWSM in all departmental activities, acting as primary escalation point for staff members, Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and warehouse providers and other relevant stakeholders.

Specific Responsibilities

Organize and lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs):

  • Schedule and organize quarterly meetings with LSPs and 3PL, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and available.
  • Collaborate with LSPs and 3PL to align and verify data before the meetings, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Gather, prepare, and analyse all necessary information and performance metrics to be discussed during the QBRs.
  • Create detailed reports and presentations if necessary to facilitate productive discussions.

 

Assist in annual tender preparation and evaluation:

  • Assist in developing comprehensive Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents and files that clearly outline the company’s requirements and expectations.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing quotations from various LSPs, comparing costs, service quality, and compliance with company standards.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to evaluate proposals, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of tender data into our ERP system.

 

Analyze transport costs and prepare quotations to clients:

  • Conduct analyses of transport costs and create accurate and competitive quotations for clients, ensuring that all relevant costs are included and clearly communicated.

 

Onboard new LSPs:

  • Manage the onboarding process for new LSPs and ensure they understand and meet the company’s requirements.
  • Conduct the pre-qualify process compliance with company

 

SLA management with service providers:

  • Ensure all provided services and processes—including the underlying contracts—are in alignment with the agreed service level targets stipulated by the contract. This includes monitoring and reporting the ongoing performance, evaluating the risks and identifying mitigating measures.

 

Quality Management System:

  • Monitor best practices and changes in procedures and adjust QMS documentation to ensure they are implemented by internal as well as external staff.
  • Reporting incident complaints to the respective LSP.
  • Organize and carry out LSPs operational audits.

 

Continuous improvement:

  • Actively contribute to i+solutions’ commitment to innovation by identifying opportunities together with the service providers for improvement in the supply chain.
  • (Co)Develops, implements, optimizes and/or continuously improves work processes, techniques and systems.
  • Ensures implementation of changes and improvements, as well as the transfer and retention of knowledge within the organization with focus on impact.

 

Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in transport, logistics, management, business or other related area or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain management, transport & logistics and warehouse management.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Relevant experience with working with freight forwards and 3PLs.
  • Experience in managing and entering data into several ERPs in timely and accurate manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good command of Microsoft tools, mainly excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
  • Eligible to work in the Netherlands.
