i+solutions procures medicines and delivers them on time at destination. The PSS department works with big donor organizations like the Global Fund and StopTB Partnership to procure HIV, TB, and malaria treatments. We deliver them to central warehouses in over 100 low- and middle-income countries worldwide, contributing to end these diseases that are curable and preventable. During the COVID crisis, we also started procuring installations to produce medical oxygen and materials for personal protection, like face masks and gloves. Apart from the big donors, we also receive orders from other international organizations and we work directly with several Ministries of Health. If you want to know more, please visit the Procurement page on our website.
Next to our procurement activities, we advise countries on how to improve their pharmaceutical supply chain, to make sure patients always have their medicines when they need them. The department that works in this area is called DOS, which stands for Data and Optimization Solutions. DOS works together with several in-country teams to help regional health facilities with the implemention of our logistic management information system Medexis. By using this tool, health care workers are able to manage their stock and order process in a more efficient way. At the same time, we collect data that is vital to understanding and improving the health supply chain. If you want to know more about our in-country projects, please visit the Projects page on our website.
We have developed our own online learning platform, called i+academy. We train health care workers in low- and middle-income countries on topics like supply chain management, forecasting, quantification and how to work with our logistic management tool Medexis. The platform is available in four languages and is suitable for environments with low bandwith, like the countries we work in. We have over 40 different trainings and the platform currently has over 6000 active users. We also use the platform for internal trainings on policies and SOPs. We have recently created an online platform for the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo and trained their staff on how to use it. To find out more, please visit www.iplusacademy.org.
